Hamilton Mausoleum

Hamilton Mausoleum was the resting place of the family of the Dukes of Hamilton. Built in the grounds of the now-demolished Hamilton Palace,  its high stone holds the world record for the longest echo in the world

Some official sites describe the echo as “one of the longest in Scotland”, “One of the longest in Britain”, “One of the longest in Europe” It is actually the longest in the World! (this was featured on Record Breakers in the 1980’s).

After 18 months of repairs, Hamilton Mausoleum Tours started again on 1 May 2016.

Unfortunately tours are only once a month
